about famigne
for creation to become my purpose is something i strive for everyday. i can say .. i hope it will be worth what i give up. i thank each and every one of you whom takes a peak into this gallery.
rest assured, each piece stands alone. we're all so perfectly unique and individual, it would be a shame not to have a hook around our neck to represent just who we are.
about materials
-
metals
each wearable part is made of stainless steel and silver parts only, which makes it long-lasting and resistant. stainless steel especially is a sturdy and forgiving material which doesn't oxidize nor changes color.
silver may create a yellowish film - this can be easily fixed using a silver cleaner.
pendants are made by hand using tin, which is melted to allow me to shape it by will. though also resistant, it is slightly softer.
-
sourcing
every animal part used has been ethically sourced by me, largely by hand, always post mortem. with some practice in preservation, each piece is chemically cleaned and polished before use.
-
resin & other chemicals
resin used to set pendants in place is of ecological origin and though of biological source, it isn't sanded to eliminate the production of microplastics - therefore minor imperfections such as bubbles may occur.
other chemicals include varnishes used to set certain parts or paints in place, add shine to the piece or cure natural parts. all of which are safe to human skin.
